Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gilberto Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alberto Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez has chosen The Kinks - Apeman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lopez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Souza on the side of the head.
Lopez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Souza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Souza moves out of range as Lopez strikes.
Lopez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Souza sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lopez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Souza moves away.

Lopez throws a good cross that connects.
Souza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lopez was well out of range. Poor timing from Souza.
Souza uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lopez.

Lopez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Souza. Souza circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Souza takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lopez sprawls well. Lopez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.

Lopez looks to land a right hand but Souza moved out of range.

Lopez throws a looping overhand right but Souza ducks down to avoid it.
Souza fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Souza shoots in for a takedown but Lopez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alberto Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lopez throws an overhand right that lands on Souza's shoulder, as Souza tries to avoid the shot.

Souza moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lopez has worked his arm free - good work by Lopez!

Souza goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lopez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Souza but great work by Lopez.

Lopez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Souza defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lopez.

Lopez seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Souza is holding on tight.
Souza is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Souza is looking to improve his position but Lopez isn't that keen on the idea.

Lopez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Souza can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Souza keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Souza's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Lopez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Souza has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Lopez manages to capitalize on a mistake by Souza to take his back!

Lopez loads up on a big right hand but Souza slips the punch.

Souza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lopez tries to avoid it but Souza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lopez to the ground. Lopez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A cross from Lopez lands.
Souza shoots for a double leg takedown but Lopez sprawls well. He's pushed Souza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez throws a shot from downtown. Souza moves away and avoids it.
Lopez misses with a wild body shot.

Lopez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Souza.

Lopez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Souza is squirming around, avoiding Lopez's attempts to control the action.

Souza is trying desperately to improve position.
Lopez looking to ground and pound but Souza is blocking nicely.
Souza bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Lopez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Souza sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lopez's guard.

Souza is looking for a kimura but Lopez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Souza to get the leverage.

Souza seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lopez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
