Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Shelter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Anderson Shelter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anderson Shelter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood doesn't manage to clinch there - Shelter circles away.
Wood looks to land a combination. Shelter sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wood throws a one two combo.
Shelter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shelter takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Wood misses with a two punch combination.

Shelter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
A lull in the action here as Shelter stalls from top position.

Wood throws his legs up looking for a submission but Shelter uses it to pass to side control.

Shelter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shelter cracks Wood with a big right hand but Wood just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shelter works to advance to full mount. Wood defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Wood is in a horrible position here. Shelter smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Shelter is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Wood has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Shelter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wood can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wood tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Shelter is trying to trip Wood. He has hold of a leg but Wood is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shelter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
