Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Mozzi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Jones! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mozzi throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease. Ricardo Mozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mozzi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mozzi instigates a clinch. Come on Mozzi - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mozzi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mozzi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jones wants to pass the guard but Mozzi is keeping the position. Mozzi looking for a sweep. Not yet Mozzi, not yet. Mozzi keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Mozzi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to pass the guard. Mozzi keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Mozzi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mozzi throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mozzi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mozzi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. No joy there for Mozzi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mozzi.
Mozzi tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mozzi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mozzi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat. Ricardo Mozzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Mozzi shows good takedown defense. Mozzi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mozzi. Mozzi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mozzi misses the shot to the body. Jones shoots in but no luck this time. Mozzi stuffs the takedown. Jones ducks under a wild hook from Mozzi. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mozzi sprawls well. Mozzi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mozzi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jones looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mozzi tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance. Jones walks into a straight right hand from Mozzi. Mozzi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. Mozzi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jones at a distance.
Mozzi rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. A short uppercut from Mozzi. Mozzi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Mozzi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Mozzi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mozzi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Mozzi tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mozzi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ricardo Mozzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Mozzi shows good takedown defense. Jones takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mozzi misses with the combination.

Mozzi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mozzi slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Mozzi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mozzi digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs. Mozzi wants to clinch. Mozzi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mozzi clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage. Mozzi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mozzi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mozzi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Mozzi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jones looking to control but Mozzi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mozzi is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones wants to control the pace but Mozzi is squirming around nicely. Jones pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones has his hands on Mozzi's head, controlling the position. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mozzi stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mozzi in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mozzi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
