Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danger Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Armitage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danger Joe has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danger Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Armitage!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe lands with a slapping head kick.
A jab from Joe does it's job there.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Joe, as that shot connected.
Joe throws a nice looking combination but Armitage bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Joe moves in looking to clinch but Armitage pushes him off.
Joe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Armitage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Joe kicks Armitage off and gets back to his feet.
A punch combination from Joe misses.
Joe throws a head kick but Armitage moves out of range.
Joe cracks Armitage with an open hand slap.
Danga de danga de dang - Joe scores with a four punch combination!

Armitage fails with the takedown

and Joe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Armitage's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Armitage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Armitage seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Armitage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Joe is controlling him.

Armitage advances nicely into full mount.
Joe is working to get back to half guard.
Armitage lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Joe is desperately trying to improve his position but Armitage has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe regains half guard.
Armitage stops Joe from getting back to his feet.
Joe is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Joe manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Joe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joe is on top in guard.
Joe wants to pass the guard but Armitage is keeping the position.

Joe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Armitage drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Armitage trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

and Joe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Armitage won't be happy with that.
Danger Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Armitage.

Joe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Armitage to stand up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Armitage tries for a takedown but Joe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Joe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Joe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Joe tries to clinch up.

Joe scores with a takedown into Armitage's guard.

Joe gets to his feet - Armitage follows without any prompting.
Joe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Armitage counters with a body kick.
No luck for Armitage with that takedown attempt.
Armitage fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Armitage counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Armitage.
Joe wants to get back to his feet but Armitage is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Armitage passes into half guard.
Armitage wants to take a breather but Joe is having none of it.
Armitage wants to pass to mount but Joe is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danger Joe dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A jab-cross combination lands for Armitage and sends Joe crashing to the mat! Armitage follows him down to the mat - Joe regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Joe is rocked!
Armitage is controlling the pace.
Oh Joe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Armitage scores with a couple of nice shots.
Danger Joe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Armitage takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Armitage winds up and cracks Joe with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Joe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Joe has hold of Armitage's hands but Armitage slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Armitage is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Armitage content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Joe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Joe seems to have got his legs back now.
Armitage looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Armitage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Joe wants to control but Armitage is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Armitage is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Armitage lands a couple of elbows.

Armitage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joe has his foot on Armitage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Armitage works his way back into a safe position though.

Trent Armitage showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Armitage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joe as he jumps to the side.

Joe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Armitage looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Armitage kicks off Joe and gets to his feet.
Joe scores with a body shot.
Joe throws a nice looking combination but Armitage bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Joe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Danger Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Armitage dodges the punch combination from Joe.

Armitage is doing well to control the position and prevent Joe from advancing to side control.
Joe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Armitage's head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Joe passes to side control.
Armitage gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Armitage is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Joe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Joe's back!

Armitage controlling well, preventing Joe from escaping the position.

Armitage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Joe uses his free foot to push down on Armitage's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Armitage.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Danger Joe.
I think Joe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
