The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Linderoth has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Linderoth throws a series of punches but Belfort avoids them all with ease. Belfort misses with an uppercut. Belfort waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Linderoth. Belfort tries to clinch up but Linderoth circles away and keeps his distance. Linderoth misses with a looping right. Belfort fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. No joy there for Belfort, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Linderoth avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Belfort on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Belfort swings for the body but Linderoth moves out of range.
Linderoth misses with a hook. Belfort uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Linderoth has time to react. Fedor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belfort defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Linderoth. Belfort slips a jab from Linderoth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Belfort lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Linderoth circles away quickly and effectively. Linderoth misses the shot to the body. Linderoth will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Belfort works Linderoth's body with a nice hook. Belfort misses with a straight left. Belfort getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Linderoth moves out of range as Belfort strikes. Belfort throws a combination. Linderoth tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Belfort swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Belfort takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Belfort misses with a hook. Linderoth lands a right hook to the body.
Belfort lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Fedor Belfort is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Belfort throws a head kick that misses. Belfort swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Linderoth takes a swing at Belfort's ribcage but misses. Belfort listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Linderoth fails with the takedown. Belfort scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Belfort is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Belfort cracks Linderoth with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Belfort misses with a straight left. Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Belfort bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Belfort tries to close the distance and clinch but Linderoth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Linderoth avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Linderoth throws a good cross that connects.
Belfort is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Belfort lands an overhand right. Linderoth misses with a looping left. A head kick by Linderoth misses and Belfort counters with a left and a right that stings Linderoth.
Linderoth is rocked! Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Linderoth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Belfort swivels and escapes. Fedor Belfort has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tobias Linderoth. Belfort lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Linderoth closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Belfort did well to prevent Linderoth getting side control. Belfort is controlling Linderoth's trapped leg to prevent Linderoth from advancing to side control. Belfort gets back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Belfort wants to sweep here but Linderoth controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belfort is working hard here to advance position. Linderoth throws a strike but Belfort rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Belfort throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Linderoth works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Belfort sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Linderoth's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belfort with the ground and pound but Linderoth uses the opportunity to regain guard. Belfort throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Linderoth looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Belfort tries to free his leg and advance position but Linderoth is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Belfort dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Belfort keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Linderoth. The fighters circling - Linderoth throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Linderoth shoots and misses and Belfort counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Belfort scores with a hook. Belfort closes the distance looking to clinch and Linderoth counters with a nice double leg into side control. Belfort won't be happy with that. The ground and pound from Linderoth seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Linderoth takes a little break here. Belfort wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Belfort is trying to control Linderoth's posture but Linderoth avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort manages to get back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Belfort is not content to let Linderoth control the position. Linderoth wants to work for an arm triangle but Belfort is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Linderoth is breathing heavily. Belfort is looking to control Linderoth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Belfort avoid being mounted?
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Linderoth displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Belfort throws out the jab. Belfort tries to clinch there but Linderoth circles away.

Belfort has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Linderoth trying to control the action but Belfort is working from the bottom. Belfort moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Belfort escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Linderoth gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Linderoth working some strikes from top position.

Linderoth trying to control the position from guard on top but Belfort is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Belfort wants to stand and escape but Linderoth is having none of it. Linderoth loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Belfort connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Linderoth moves forwards but Belfort connects with a nice, crisp jab. Belfort throws the left hand but Linderoth avoids the punch easily. Belfort lands an overhand right. Belfort tries to close the distance and clinch up but Linderoth swats him away and circles back towards the center. Belfort thows a left - swing and a miss! Belfort instigates a clinch. Belfort lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Linderoth. Linderoth looking for a takedown. A knee to the head by Belfort.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Belfort works on Linderoth's body with a couple of short punches. Belfort is leaning against Linderoth and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Belfort is stalling here.

Can Belfort finish him? Linderoth looks up at the clock. Bad move! Belfort lands a right hand from hell, dropping Linderoth. Belfort pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
