Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudolph Carnage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rudolph Carnage!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Carnage misses.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carnage circles away.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carnage.
Carnage ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Carnage tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carnage keeps working.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Gracie with the ground and pound but Carnage regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Carnage tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.

Carnage drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracie wants to control but Carnage postures up.

Carnage is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gracie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Carnage throws an elbow but Gracie slips to the side and avoids it well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Carnage shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carnage was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Carnage wants to finish this one by submission but Gracie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carnage.

Carnage is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gracie to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gracie shrugs it off.

Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Carnage counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Carnage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gracie's guard now.
Carnage is in close to Gracie's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Carnage drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Carnage off! Carnage jumps back into Gracie's guard.

Carnage looks up at the clock and then as Gracie takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carnage smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carnage lands a few punches from side control.
Carnage is staying tight to Gracie's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Gracie tries to buck Carnage off but Carnage is having none of it.

Carnage is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gracie is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Carnage's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Carnage prevents Gracie from improving his position.
Carnage passes the guard and advances to mount!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Carnage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Carnage tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Gracie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carnage.
Gracie attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Carnage swats away the attempt to clinch by Gracie.
Gracie takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Carnage feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Carnage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carnage throws a big right hand that misses.

Carnage avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Carnage drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carnage has Gracie in his guard.
Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carnage is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carnage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Carnage's legs - danger averted.

Carnage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Carnage eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Carnage is looking to advance position but Gracie won't allow it.

Carnage seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gracie for as long as he can get away with.
Gracie is looking to control Carnage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?
