0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joani Carv! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carv swats away the attempt to clinch by Dos Santos. Carv shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dos Santos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Carv pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dos Santos is keeping the position for now. Carv controls from within his opponent's guard. Carv won't allow Dos Santos to get back to his feet. Carv looking to pass the guard. Carv not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dos Santos wants to get back to his feet but Carv is in a dominant position and won't allow it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Carv prevents Dos Santos from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carv in particular looking to stall. Carv is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Carv is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos tries to kick Carv off in order to stand up. Carv Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Dos Santos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Carv taking a breather here. Carv working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Carv decides to stand back up. Carv steps back and let's Dos Santos get back to his feet.

Dos Santos wants to clinch up but Carv keeps it at a distance. Dos Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Carv swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Carv decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dos Santos wants to clinch but Carv slips to the side and Carv counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Carv thows a huge punch but Dos Santos dodges it nicely.

Dos Santos darts in trying to clinch and Carv counters with a single leg into guard. Dos Santos didn't expect that. Carv missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Carv looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dos Santos is looking to stand up but Carv isn't so interested in that idea. Carv is stalling in the full guard.

Dos Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Carv throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dos Santos works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dos Santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carv on the ground. Dos Santos being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carv passes into half guard. Dos Santos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Carv content to control rather than advance. Carv is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carv is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Carv wants to pass the guard but Dos Santos is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Carv thows a huge punch but Dos Santos dodges it nicely.

Joani Carv showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Carv controls the position from side control. Dos Santos looking for a sweep but Carv has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Carv misses with a head shot. Carv controlling from the full mount.

Despite being in the dominant position, Joani Carv just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dos Santos tries to keep at a distance but Carv has taken the fight into the clinch. Carv is trying to force a seperation but Dos Santos has the dominant position. Carv takes a knee to the side of the body. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Dos Santos crunches a lovely knee into Carv's ribcage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Carv as Dos Santos tries to tie him up. Dos Santos landing knees to the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos prevents Carv from breaking the clinch. Carv fails to pull the fight into his guard.

With the fighters up against the cage, Dos Santos throws an elbow but misses. Dos Santos connects with a knee to the head.

Cigano Dos Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joani Carv. Carv fails to pull guard.
Carv is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Dos Santos is keeping busy. Carv wants a takedown.
Carv wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dos Santos has him pressed against the cage. Dos Santos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carv closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cigano Dos Santos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joani Carv is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Carv lands a decent elbow from side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Joani Carv comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Carv winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
