Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Keith Horton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thor Odinsson! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Odinsson closes the distance and clinches. Horton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Odinsson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Odinsson wants to control but Horton is keeping him busy. The referee asks Odinsson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Odinsson prefers to stall for the moment though. Odinsson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Odinsson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Odinsson just content to control the position. Odinsson tries for a kimura but Horton is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odinsson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Horton is trying to get back to half guard. Odinsson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Horton works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Odinsson is looking for a kimura but Horton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Odinsson to get the leverage. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Odinsson is keen to just control but Horton is a slippery customer. Odinsson wants to pass the guard but Horton is defending well. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Odinsson passes to full mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Odinsson looking for a guillotine from mount but Horton is having none of it. Odinsson looks gassed! Odinsson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Horton is now in Odinsson's guard. A big mistake from Odinsson there, giving up the dominant position! Horton working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Odinsson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Horton wants to control from the top but Odinsson keeps moving. Odinsson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Horton is aware though and is defending well. Odinsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Horton defends well. Odinsson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Horton defends it easily. Horton scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Horton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Odinsson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Horton trying to control but Odinsson postures up.
Horton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Odinsson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Odinsson trying to mount his opponent but Horton defends it. Odinsson moves nicely into side control. Odinsson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Horton, who protects the arm well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thor Odinsson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
A slow jab from Horton misses its intended target. Horton with a poor takedown and Odinsson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Horton thinking. Odinsson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Odinsson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Odinsson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Horton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Odinsson moves into full mount! Horton won't be happy about that!
That's one minute gone in the round. Odinsson tries to control but Horton wriggling away. Odinsson controlling the pace for now. Odinsson has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Horton's face.
Odinsson controlling from the full mount. Horton is trying to escape the mount but Odinsson keeps good control and instead manages to take Horton's back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Odinsson looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Horton taps!
