Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricardo Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim King!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a head kick but Souza moves out of range.
A nice combination there by Souza.
King gets caught flat footed, as Souza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Souza connects with a couple of short punches.
Souza working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of King's head.
Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Souza drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Souza off! Souza jumps back into King's guard.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Souza trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Souza is controlling him.
Souza drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Souza off! Souza jumps back into King's guard.
Souza works over King with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
King misses with a takedown
and Souza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
King connects with a nasty looking knee right to Souza's face.
King blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Souza can't get the takedown.
Souza is trying to work for a single leg takedown but King pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Souza is breathing heavily.
King lands an elbow inside.
Souza wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King is trying to trip Souza. He has hold of a leg but Souza is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. King persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
King stands and steps away. Souza gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Souza's waist but Souza gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.
Souza shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches King napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Souza grinds an elbow into King's temple.
King taking punishment in the form of punches.
King throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
King is trying to get back to his feet.
Souza scores with a couple of short elbows.

King misses with a strike from the bottom.
Souza scores with punches from side control.
King wants to get back to his feet but Souza drags him back down.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
King misses with a two punch combination.
King gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Souza to score an easy takedown into full guard.
King wants to stand up but Souza is controlling him.
King keeping full guard, as Souza tries to pass.
King has his feet on Souza's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Souza throws a one two combo.
King keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A left and a right from King both land. Nice combination.
Souza looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for King!
King is bucking up trying to escape but Souza cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Souza lands a heavy elbow.
King is in a horrible position here. Souza smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
King is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Souza looking for a guillotine from mount but King is having none of it.
Souza working for a submission but King is keeping him at bay.
King is trying to stand.

Souza landing shots from mount.
King is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Souza locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! King is forced to tap!
