Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darrin Engstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Zaromskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lucas Zaromskis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darrin Engstrom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Zaromskis! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaromskis misses with a takedown attempt - Engstrom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Engstrom scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Engstrom stalling. Engstrom is trying to control. Zaromskis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Engstrom is figuring out what he wants to do next. Engstrom sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Zaromskis defending well though. Engstrom stands up out of the half guard. Zaromskis fails with the takedown and Engstrom counters with a takedown into side control. Zaromskis is trying to escape the position but Engstrom is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaromskis prevents Engstrom from moving into mount. Engstrom throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Zaromskis tries to improve position but can't. Engstrom trying to control the position but Zaromskis is working away. Zaromskis keeping his opponent close. Zaromskis can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Engstrom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zaromskis keeps working.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Engstrom feints and as Zaromskis raises his hands in defense, Engstrom changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Engstrom gets to his feet. Zaromskis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Zaromskis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Engstrom counters with a shoot takedown. Zaromskis fights it but they end up in guard. Darrin Engstrom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Zaromskis. Engstrom stays in close to Zaromskis's body and controls the position. Zaromskis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Engstrom passes into side control.
Zaromskis looks gassed! Engstrom slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Zaromskis.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zaromskis tries to reverse the position but Engstrom maintains control. Zaromskis holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Engstrom tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Engstrom punching from mount but Zaromskis doing a good job of avoiding damage. Zaromskis blocking the ground and pound. Engstrom trying to control but Zaromskis is having none of it. Engstrom thowing shots but they're missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Engstrom looking to control but Zaromskis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Engstrom sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Engstrom misses with a head shot. Zaromskis working to try and regain half guard.
Engstrom misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darrin Engstrom dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Zaromskis closes the distance looking to clinch and Engstrom counters with a shoot takedown. Zaromskis fights it but they end up in guard. Zaromskis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Engstrom is pushing down on Zaromskis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zaromskis is fighting to maintain full guard but Engstrom has managed to sneak the leg through. Engstrom throwing shots but Zaromskis is blocking nicely. Engstrom decides to stand and escape the position. Zaromskis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Engstrom moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Zaromskis fails with the takedown and Engstrom counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Zaromskis's guard now. Zaromskis is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaromskis keeping moving, preventing Engstrom from controlling successfully. Zaromskis working for submissions but it's allowed Engstrom to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Engstrom works his way into side control. Engstrom controlling the position. Zaromskis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Zaromskis is refusing to be controlled, as Engstrom sits in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Engstrom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zaromskis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Darrin Engstrom just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Engstrom moves into range and clinches up with Zaromskis. Engstrom gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Zaromskis has Engstrom pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Engstrom manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Engstrom wants the takedown. Zaromskis is fighting it off but Engstrom persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Zaromskis's guard against the cage. Engstrom slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Engstrom wants to pass the guard but Zaromskis is keeping the position. Engstrom won't allow Zaromskis to sweep him here. Engstrom gets to his feet - Zaromskis follows without any prompting. Engstrom fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zaromskis sprawls well initially but Engstrom persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Engstrom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zaromskis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Engstrom sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Zaromskis defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zaromskis is looking to regain half guard here but Engstrom keeps moving and retains side control. Zaromskis is trying to control Engstrom's posture but Engstrom avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Zaromskis is letting Engstrom control him for a moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Engstrom moves into the clinch. Engstrom is stalling here.
Engstrom manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Zaromskis trying to move into half guard but instead Engstrom has managed to sweep! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Engstrom preventing the sweep. Engstrom has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Zaromskis wants to stand up but Engstrom is controlling him. Lucas Zaromskis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Darrin Engstrom is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Engstrom showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Darrin Engstrom showed his dominance in that final round. Well Engstrom has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
