Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Zeldenthuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neal Monnelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monnelli is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Legenda - Where the Devils Dance. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dirk Zeldenthuis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Neal Monnelli! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monnelli shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zeldenthuis's guard. Monnelli trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Monnelli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Zeldenthuis pulls Monnelli in to control the position. Monnelli tries to free his leg and advance position but Zeldenthuis is retaining full guard. Zeldenthuis throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Zeldenthuis seems keen to control Monnelli's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monnelli postures up.
Monnelli pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zeldenthuis is keeping the position for now. Monnelli is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Monnelli shoots in for a takedown but Zeldenthuis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Zeldenthuis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Monnelli tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zeldenthuis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeldenthuis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Zeldenthuis trying to control the position but Monnelli is working away. Monnelli is trying to control Zeldenthuis's posture but Zeldenthuis avoids it. Zeldenthuis looking to control but instead Monnelli has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Zeldenthuis moves into full mount! Monnelli won't be happy about that!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Zeldenthuis content just to control the position here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Monnelli is controlling an arm, preventing Zeldenthuis from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Monnelli has given up his back here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Zeldenthuis trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
I really don't envy Monnelli right now.

Dirk Zeldenthuis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Monnelli shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zeldenthuis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Monnelli drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Monnelli jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Monnelli being controlled here momentarily. Zeldenthuis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Monnelli wants to pass the guard but Zeldenthuis is keeping the position. Monnelli is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Zeldenthuis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monnelli is staying active underneath Zeldenthuis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Monnelli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Monnelli keeping hold of Zeldenthuis's head, controlling as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Monnelli is pressing down on Zeldenthuis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Zeldenthuis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Monnelli is keeping the position for now. Zeldenthuis looking to sit in guard and control but Monnelli gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zeldenthuis keeping full guard, as Monnelli tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Neal Monnelli will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Zeldenthuis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monnelli sprawls well initially but Zeldenthuis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zeldenthuis moves nicely into side control. Monnelli gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Zeldenthuis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Zeldenthuis looking to control and managing it successfully. Monnelli manages to regain half guard. Good work. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Zeldenthuis here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Monnelli tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Zeldenthuis has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Zeldenthuis seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Monnelli is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Monnelli really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Zeldenthuis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Monnelli is looking to escape. Monnelli is desperately trying to improve his position but Zeldenthuis has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeldenthuis with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Monnelli is wriggling around trying to escape.
Monnelli wants to control but Zeldenthuis is having none of it. Zeldenthuis wants to control the pace but Monnelli is squirming around nicely. Zeldenthuis swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Monnelli is now in Zeldenthuis's guard. A big mistake from Zeldenthuis there, giving up the dominant position! Monnelli looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Zeldenthuis pulls Monnelli in close to his closed guard and prevents Monnelli from doing any damage or advancing position. Monnelli forces his way into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monnelli is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dirk Zeldenthuis. Well Zeldenthuis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
