Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Brown!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brown misses with a leg kick.
Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ellis.
Brown throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ellis.
Brown throws a push kick but Ellis slaps the foot to one side.

Brown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ellis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Ellis is retaining full guard.

Ellis has control of Brown's left arm, preventing Brown from doing any damage.
Brown throws a strike but Ellis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ellis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ellis is one step ahead there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brown has his foot on Ellis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ellis works his way back into a safe position though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ellis drops Brown with a beautiful combination! Brown stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ellis is looking for the KO!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brown uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ellis.
Ellis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ellis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brown tries for a takedown but Ellis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brown scores with a nice body kick.
Brown is looking to score with low kicks.
Ellis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Brown goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Brown ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Brown looks to land a body kick but Ellis moved away.
Ellis on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Brown. Brown obviously looking to wear him down.

Anthony Ellis seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Ellis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it.
Anthony Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown shoots in and drives through. Ellis sprawls well.
Brown lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ellis takes a step back to recover.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ellis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ellis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brown circles away quickly and effectively.

Roy Brown's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Ellis cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


Jeez, Roy Brown's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Roy Brown's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
