The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hester counters with a solid body kick.

Hester throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tecahchi's waist but Tecahchi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hester off to one side.
Kyro Tecahchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Hester.

It looks like Kyro Tecahchi has been cut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tecahchi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hester gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tecahchi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hester bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tecahchi's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hester gets to his feet. Tecahchi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hester lands with a kick to the temple. Tecahchi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Tecahchi drives through and clinches with Hester against the cage.

Tecahchi is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hester can't fight it off and eventually Tecahchi manages to take the fight to the floor. Hester looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hester throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tecahchi escapes and throws Hester's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Hester seems to have recovered his senses.
Hester working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Tecahchi is doing well to defend. Hester seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Tecahchi is forced to tap and this one is over!
