The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kokelschell. No joy for Garrand on that attempt.
Garrand shoots in for a takedown but Kokelschell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Garrand has Kokelschell pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Garrand pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kokelschell tumbling to the mat - Garrand dives into Kokelschell's guard.

Kokelschell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Garrand can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Garrand manages to get his head free but now Kokelschell has transitioned to an armbar! Garrand grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Kokelschell! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
