The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire has managed to clinch.
Williams wants to break free but Fire has control.
Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fire avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Fire goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Williams shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fire manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fire looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fire is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fire pulls Williams in to control the position. Fire not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Fire. No joy for Williams on that attempt. Fire avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Fire with a poor takedown and Williams decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fire's guard. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Williams fails with the takedown and Fire counters with a flying knee. Nice. Barra Fire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Williams. Fire working over Williams with some ground and pound. Williams looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fire is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Williams defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Williams is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fire scores with a couple of nice shots. Fire is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Williams is just riding it out for now. Fire eventually gives up the hold. Fire is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily. Fire throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Williams is defending against the submission attempts here by Fire.

Fire trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fire is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Fire jumps back into Williams's guard. Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fire can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rex Williams has got the better of the ground game so far. Fire with a flurry of punches that miss. Williams looking for a triangle here. Fire is fighting it but it looks tight! Williams pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Fire is tapping out - this one is all over!
