Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Czar Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spice Beef! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beef fails in his attempt to clinch. Beef tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range. Beef tries to close the distance and clinch but Khan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Khan stalks Beef and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Beef's face. Beef staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Spice Beef has been cut. Beef tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range. Beef tries to clinch up but Khan circles away and keeps his distance. Beef fails with an attempt to clinch.
Khan drives through with a takedown into guard. Beef is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Beef is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Khan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beef on the ground. Khan is looking to work some ground and pound but Beef has wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Khan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Khan tries to stand but can't do so whilst Beef controls his leg. Khan is trying to control. Beef wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Khan wants to pass the guard but Beef is defending well. Beef looks like he's trying to stand up.
Beef looks gassed! Khan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Khan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Khan is keen to just control but Beef is a slippery customer. Khan is taking a breather. Beef says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Beef goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Beef wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Beef is refusing to be controlled, as Khan sits in half guard. Beef avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Khan. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Beef is trying to stand up here but Khan is controlling him well. Khan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Khan tries to stand and escape but Beef is controlling the position. Beef is trying to stand back up but Khan is controlling him
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Khan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan landing strikes, looking to finish! Khan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Beef's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beef's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Khan with shots to the head and body - Beef looks very uncomfortable down there. Khan lands a nice shot to the head. Khan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Beef wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Khan cracks Beef with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Khan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Beef looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Beef is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Khan is controlling him well. Khan cracks Beef with an elbow. That is naaassty. Khan is working Beef over with some ground and pound from side control. Khan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Beef down.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beef with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Beef wants to get back to his feet.
Khan wants to pass to mount but Beef is defending the position. Beef has hold of Khan's hands but Khan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Beef pushes Khan off looking to stand but Khan dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, Khan seems content to control. Khan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Khan working the head and body with strikes. Beef looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Khan slows the pace down in half guard. Khan looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Khan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Khan stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Khan shoots for a double leg takedown but Beef sprawls well. He's pushed Khan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Beef looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Beef keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Beef is looking to clinch. Beef wants to clinch. Beef moves in looking to clinch but Khan pushes him off. Khan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Khan showed some decent athleticism there.

Khan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beef's head. Beef tries to kick Khan off but Khan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Khan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Beef to stand up. Khan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beef to the mat! Beef manages to get full guard. Beef is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Khan is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
