7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doc Thomas! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas fakes the leg kick and cracks Pharaoh in the body. Thomas fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A jab from Thomas finds it's way through Pharaoh's defenses. Thomas lands a slapping body shot.
Pharaoh misses with a head kick.
Thomas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pharaoh has time to react. Pharaoh tries a head kick but it misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pharaoh throws a solid leg kick but Thomas takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pharaoh. Pharaoh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pharaoh plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Thomas avoids the head kick by Pharaoh.

Pharaoh walks into a straight right hand from Thomas. This has been an exciting period of action! A head kick by Pharaoh misses enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab. Thomas misses with a double jab.

Thomas is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pharaoh had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Pharaoh throws a sloppy head kick and Thomas moves out of range easily. Pharaoh seems to have got his legs back now. Pharaoh slips a jab and a cross from Thomas.

Thomas throws a nice looking combination but Pharaoh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pharaoh takes a shot right to the bread basket. Thomas tests Pharaoh's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Thomas moves out of range as Pharaoh throws a body kick.
Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pharaoh circles away quickly and effectively. Thomas misses with a looping right. Pharaoh shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Thomas throws a right and a left that both miss. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pharaoh lands with a kick to the temple. Thomas shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Thomas checks a leg kick. Thomas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Doc Thomas dominated that round. The cut man is working on Steve Pharaoh's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Thomas throws a shot from downtown. Pharaoh moves away and avoids it. Pharaoh takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Pharaoh throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Thomas. Pharaoh scores with a takedown into Thomas's guard. Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pharaoh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Pharaoh is pushing down on Thomas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Thomas is fighting to maintain full guard but Pharaoh has managed to sneak the leg through. Thomas trying to control from the bottom.
Pharaoh is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thomas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pharaoh. Pharaoh moves nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas sneaks back into half guard. Pharaoh is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Thomas manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pharaoh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thomas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thomas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thomas! Thomas trying to control the action but Pharaoh is working from the bottom. Pharaoh is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Thomas creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Pharaoh is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Thomas's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Thomas is trying to work for a kimura but Pharaoh is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pharaoh is trying to improve his position. Thomas looks up at the clock and then as Pharaoh takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thomas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Thomas lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Thomas thowing shots but they're missing. Thomas has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pharaoh's face.

Pharaoh had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Thomas thows a body kick. Pharaoh tries to catch it but that hurt him. That had to hurt Thomas. Thomas has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Pharaoh.

An inside leg kick lands from Pharaoh. Both fighters circling a little - Pharaoh finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A solid leg kick lands there for Pharaoh.

Thomas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pharaoh to the mat! Pharaoh manages to get full guard. Pharaoh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Pharaoh is tightening it up a little... Thomas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thomas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thomas taps out! nice BJJ there by Pharaoh!
