Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kalam Mekhar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Ha! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Mekhar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mekhar looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ha is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mekhar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mekhar is working hard here to advance position. Mekhar has gone for a leg lock! Ha slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mekhar's guard. Mekhar working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ha. Ha controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mekhar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mekhar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mekhar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ha doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ha manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ha trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mekhar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ha makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ha lands a couple of digs. Mekhar has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ha should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Mekhar has tightened it up now! Ha should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
