Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maunu Tua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Champ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maunu Tua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Champ! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tua steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Champ. That one must have hurt. Tua closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tua lands in his opponent's guard. Tua looking to pass the guard. Champ working a defensive guard here.
Tua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tua tries for a kimura but Champ is defending well. Tua working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tua is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Champ has escaped the position, nice work there. Tua staying calm. The strikes coming from Tua are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Tua goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Champ has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tua but great work by Champ.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tua is looking for a sweep. Champ is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tua is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tua is looking to regain half guard here but Champ keeps moving and retains side control. Tua is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Tua's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tua scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Tua seems to be looking for submissions.
Tua is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Champ doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tua. Tua is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Champ kicks Tua off and gets back to his feet. Tua shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Champ is staying active underneath Tua, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Champ has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tua is working away from the top position though. Tua seems to be working for a kimura but Champ defends the submission attempt. Champ is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tua is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Champ is defending against the submission attempts here by Tua.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tua tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Champ swivels and escapes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tua misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Champ throws a head kick that misses. Champ goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Maunu Tua has been cut. Tua on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Crunch! Champ slams his shin into Tua's torso. Champ moves in looking to clinch but Tua pushes him off. Champ throws a sloppy head kick and Tua moves out of range easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tua stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Champ. Champ throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Champ is looking to slow Tua down with leg kicks. Champ tries to clinch but Tua is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steven Champ showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Maunu Tua's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Champ misses with a body kick. Champ fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tua. A good leg kick by Champ. Champ does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Champ works the jab nicely. Tua takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Champ moves in looking to clinch but Tua pushes him off. Champ throws a nice inside leg kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Champ lands with a right hand. A nice inside leg kick there by Champ. That's going to slow Tua down. Champ throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Champ tries to clinch up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Champ throws a head kick but Tua moves out of range.
Champ tries to close the distance and clinch but Tua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tua shoots in and bounces Champ off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Champ wants to sweep but no luck. Tua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Champ manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tua has Champ in his guard. Champ must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Champ is fighting to break Tua's control of his arms but Tua is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tua keeping moving, preventing Champ from controlling successfully. Tua keeping full guard, as Champ tries to pass. Champ passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Champ misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Steven Champ comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Champ has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
