Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chito Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Jenkins is squirming around, avoiding Ortiz's attempts to control the action. Jenkins really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ortiz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jenkins is looking to escape. Jenkins sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ortiz is thwarting Jenkins's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortiz is looking for a kimura but Jenkins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ortiz to get the leverage. Ortiz wants to control but Jenkins is keeping him busy. Ortiz wants to pass to mount but Jenkins is defending the position. Jenkins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jenkins. Jenkins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ortiz is aware though and is defending well.

Jenkins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ortiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jenkins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jenkins is looking for a kimura here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jenkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ortiz is looking to improve his position.
Ortiz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jenkins is looking to stall here but Ortiz recovers full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ortiz keeping full guard, as Jenkins tries to pass.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jenkins looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Jenkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ortiz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ortiz has escaped and now he's on top! Ortiz trying to control but Jenkins is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins has momentary wrist control but Ortiz slips an elbow through the middle. Jenkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ortiz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ortiz passes Jenkins's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ortiz is looking to take a break and control but Jenkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jenkins trying to control here.

Jenkins gets caught flat footed, as Ortiz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jenkins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jenkins is thwarting Ortiz's attempts to control the position. Ortiz tries to roll over but Jenkins keeps him under control. Jenkins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jenkins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ortiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ortiz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jenkins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ortiz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jenkins has Ortiz in his guard. Ortiz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jenkins's head. Ortiz's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jenkins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ortiz defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins working for a triangle but Ortiz defends it easily.
Ortiz's corner is telling him to maintain position. Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Ortiz from controlling successfully. Ortiz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ortiz stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ortiz misses with a takedown attempt and Jenkins counters with a head kick. Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ortiz is rocked! Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Jenkins! This one is all over!
