Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between shinya aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kekipi Kona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kona has chosen "Same In The End" by Sublime as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kona throws a series of punches but aoki avoids them all with ease.
Kona throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kona lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kona.
aoki thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kona if he has to take too many more of those.
aoki looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

aoki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and aoki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

aoki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kona wants to get up but he can't break aoki's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kona swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

aoki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kona did well to prevent aoki getting side control.
aoki is just content to waste time from the top position. Kona takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kona kicks aoki off and gets to his feet.
Kona tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
aoki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kona lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kona.

Kona shoots for a double leg takedown but aoki sprawls well. He's pushed Kona's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

aoki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kona has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, aoki has managed to get both his arms back between Kona's legs - danger averted.
