Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hudson Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hudson Hughes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hudson Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to clinch but Hughes moves out of range.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hughes tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hughes to the ground. Hughes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gracie fails with the takedown.
Gracie shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raphael Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gracie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gracie tries to hold on but Hughes postures up.
Hughes gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hughes counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Hughes closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Hughes stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Hughes gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gracie regains guard.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hughes trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Hughes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hughes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gracie is trying to control Hughes's posture but Hughes avoids it.
Gracie sneaks back into half guard.
Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hughes tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gracie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie actively working from the bottom here.

Hughes tries to pass to full mount but Gracie defends it.
Hughes prevents Gracie from improving his position.
Hughes moves nicely into side control.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hughes stands up.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Hughes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gracie's guard now.
Hughes tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
Gracie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hughes has his hands clasped together but Gracie extends an breaks Hughes's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gracie.
