Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cowgill Nightmare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beast Mode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beast Mode is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cowgill Nightmare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Beast Mode! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mode with a body punch. A glancing blow. Mode throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nightmare. Nightmare scores a takedown into full mount! Mode is trying to escape the mount.
Nightmare won't let Mode get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Mode tries to hold on but Nightmare pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nightmare throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Mode is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mode is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nightmare is staying active. Mode is squirming around, avoiding Nightmare's attempts to control the action. Mode is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mode tries to lock up and control but Nightmare gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mode blocking the ground and pound. Mode holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Nightmare tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mode looks gassed! Mode looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Mode avoids a series of strikes thrown by Nightmare.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nightmare looking to control but Mode is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mode holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Nightmare tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mode is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Nightmare punching from mount but Mode doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nightmare lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mode hang on? Mode is looking to get to half guard. Nightmare thowing shots but they're missing. Nightmare controlling from the full mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nightmare tries to control but Mode wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Beast Mode dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nightmare closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nightmare lands in his opponent's guard. Mode keeping full guard, as Nightmare tries to pass. Nightmare has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mode managing to control the position. Nightmare looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mode trying to control the position.
Nightmare pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mode is keeping the position for now. Mode looking to control.
Mode is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mode wants to sweep here but Nightmare controlling him for the moment. Nightmare slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mode throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nightmare bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nightmare is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mode is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Mode's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nightmare decides to stand back up. Nightmare steps back and let's Mode get back to his feet. Mode throws a right and a left that Nightmare avoids nicely. Mode gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nightmare to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mode is trying to keep Nightmare in close.
Mode working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nightmare doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nightmare manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nightmare with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cowgill Nightmare dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Nightmare clinches with his opponent.
Mode is looking to break free of the clinch but Nightmare has double underhooks. Mode goes for a takedown in the clinch but Nightmare prevents it.
Nightmare has Mode pressed against the cage, preventing Mode from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nightmare manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mode trying to control the position from guard on top but Nightmare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mode stopping the sweep attempt from Nightmare. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nightmare trying to keep a closed guard but Mode is proving a slippery customer.
Mode has gone for a leg lock! Nightmare slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mode's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mode is trying to control the position but Nightmare postures up. Nightmare sitting in guard here, content to control. Mode avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nightmare stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mode swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nightmare looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nightmare looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mode wants to stand up but Nightmare is controlling him. Nightmare trying to control but Mode is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nightmare shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Nightmare postures up in Mode's guard and throws a big left but Mode blocks it. Nightmare knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mode on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nightmare tries to stand but Mode is controlling from the bottom. Mode working a defensive guard but Nightmare passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nightmare seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mode does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nightmare stops Mode from getting back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nightmare passes the guard and advances to mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Cowgill Nightmare showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nightmare has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
