Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Doxiadis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankie Edgar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Apollo Doxiadis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Edgar!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doxiadis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edgar's waist but Edgar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doxiadis off to one side.
Doxiadis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Doxiadis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Frankie Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Doxiadis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Edgar circles away.
Edgar scores with a one two! Doxiadis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edgar can do anything to dispel that myth.
Doxiadis thows a huge punch but Edgar dodges it nicely.

Doxiadis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
