Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Canuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canuck kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Where the streets have no names. Ryan Locke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Canuck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Locke! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Canuck. Locke moves in looking to clinch but Canuck pushes him off. Canuck feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Canuck tries to free his leg and advance position but Locke is retaining full guard. Canuck throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Locke works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Locke wants to stand but Canuck is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Locke keeping moving, preventing Canuck from controlling successfully. Canuck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuck pushes down on Locke's leg and manages to get into half guard. Canuck sitting and controlling from the half guard. Canuck thows a huge punch but Locke dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Canuck trying to mount his opponent but Locke defends it. Locke is looking for a sweep. Canuck is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Canuck thows a huge punch but Locke dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Locke avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Canuck. Canuck tries to pass to full mount but Locke defends it. Canuck is trying to work for a kimura but Locke is defending well.
Canuck seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Canuck thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Locke to regain full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Canuck missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Canuck with a flurry of punches that miss. Locke trying to keep a closed guard but Canuck is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Canuck bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Locke is trying to escape the position but Canuck is controlling the position. Canuck cracks Locke with a big right hand but Locke just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Canuck controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Locke tries to clinch up. Canuck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Canuck lands in his opponent's guard. Canuck throws a big right hand that misses. Locke keeping moving, preventing Canuck from controlling successfully. Canuck sitting in guard, not really doing much. Canuck won't allow Locke to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Locke is keeping the position for now. Canuck landing with the ground and pound. Canuck stopping the sweep attempt from Locke. Canuck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Canuck throws a strike but Locke rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Locke is looking to work some ground and pound but Canuck has wrist control. Canuck is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Canuck has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Canuck avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Canuck utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Canuck controlling the position. Locke with a flurry of punches that miss. Canuck is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Locke passes Canuck's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canuck on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Canuck manages to get to full guard.
Canuck controls Locke momentarily but Locke frees himself. Canuck is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Locke is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Canuck tries to land a sweep but no joy. Canuck has Locke pulled in close to control his posture. Canuck bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Locke's guard. Canuck tries to free his leg and advance position but Locke is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Canuck wants to control from the top but Locke keeps moving. Canuck keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Locke's head. Locke can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Canuck controls the pace. Canuck seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Locke for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Canuck dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Locke takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Locke tries to clinch there but Canuck circles away.
Locke with a poor takedown so Canuck counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Canuck is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnny Canuck just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Canuck gets the takedown into side control. Locke tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Canuck with the ground and pound from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Canuck content just to control the position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Locke is squirming around, avoiding Canuck's attempts to control the action. Canuck with a couple of short strikes. Canuck sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Canuck is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Locke can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canuck lands a big elbow. Ryan Locke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Locke is bucking up trying to escape but Canuck cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Locke is in a horrible position here. Canuck smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Canuck with the ground and pound from mount. Locke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee warns Locke that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Canuck is landing with some decent strikes but Locke is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Canuck sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Canuck landing strikes from the mount. Canuck tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Canuck showed his dominance in that final round. Well Canuck has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
