Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bandy Artsch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Powers! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Artsch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Artsch tries to clinch up. Artsch moves out of range of the body kick. Artsch throws a sloppy head kick and Powers moves out of range easily. Artsch misses with a double jab.
Powers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Powers closes the distance and clinches. Powers tries to break the clinch but Artsch is controlling the position. Powers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Powers throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A head kick lands from Artsch that sends Powers to the canvas. Powers tries to scramble back to his feet but Artsch brings him back down into side control.
Powers is rocked!
It looks like Kenny Powers has been cut. You can see the frustration on Powers's face as Artsch controls the position. Powers is still in real trouble! Can Artsch finish him? Artsch gets to mount! Powers was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Powers is looking to improve his position but Artsch isn't that keen on the idea. Powers seems to have recovered his senses. Artsch working Powers over with strikes here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Artsch breaks from Powers's wrist control and lands an elbow. Powers avoids a series of strikes thrown by Artsch.
A nice elbow there by Artsch. Artsch controlling from the full mount. Artsch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Powers is looking to escape. Artsch has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Powers's face.
Powers is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Artsch tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Artsch controlling from the full mount. Artsch lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Powers hang on? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Powers wants to control but Artsch is having none of it. Artsch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Powers is looking to escape. Powers avoids a series of strikes thrown by Artsch.

Artsch tries to control but Powers wriggling away. Artsch controlling his opponent. Artsch looking to control but Powers is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Artsch controlling the position easily from mount. Artsch throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Artsch thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Artsch is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Powers has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Powers! Artsch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Artsch is breathing heavily. Powers trying to control the position from guard on top but Artsch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Artsch trying to keep a closed guard but Powers is proving a slippery customer.

Artsch looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bandy Artsch dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kenny Powers's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Artsch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Artsch fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Powers thuds his shin into the meat of Artsch's side. Powers drops his shoulder and cracks Artsch with a huge uppercut! Artsch goes down! Can Powers finish him?
Artsch is rocked! Powers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Oh Artsch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Powers has eaten all the pies! Artsch controls Powers momentarily but Powers frees himself. Artsch working a defensive guard but Powers manages to pass into side control anyway.
Artsch seems to have got his legs back now. Artsch tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Powers presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Powers trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers manages to capitalize on a mistake by Artsch to take his back! Powers is not going to allow Artsch to sit and survive in this position. Artsch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Powers has good solid back control here. Powers struggling to keep hold of the position.
Powers is trying to stick to Artsch's back but Artsch is turning into Powers. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Powers's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Artsch. Artsch pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Powers is keeping the position for now. Artsch throwing strikes but missing. Powers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Artsch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Artsch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Artsch wants to pass the guard but Powers is keeping the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Powers blocks a head kick by Artsch.

Powers is breathing heavily. Artsch thuds his shin into the meat of Powers's side. Artsch tries to clinch but fails miserably and Powers counters with a nice body kick. Kenny Powers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Artsch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powers swats him away and circles back towards the center. Artsch tries to clinch but Powers moves out of range. Powers looks to land a combination but Artsch avoids it well. Powers avoids the head kick by Artsch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Artsch moves out of range of the body kick. Powers is looking to clinch. Artsch shoots for a takedown but Powers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Artsch wants to clinch up but Powers keeps it at a distance. Powers throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Artsch colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Powers as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Artsch is left battered and dazed whilst Powers and his camp cheer!
