PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Saburo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sudo comes to the cage accompanied by Mad World. Sudo has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genki Sudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saburo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Saburo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sudo is fending him off so far but Saburo persists. Nope, Sudo circles away and we're back to standing.
Sudo fails to land with a series of punches.
Sudo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Saburo.
Sudo tries a head kick but it misses.
Sudo is breathing heavily.
Saburo shoots in for a takedown but Sudo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Genki Sudo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Saburo.

Sudo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saburo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sudo stands up and waves to Saburo to follow him.
Sudo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sudo throws a head kick but Saburo moves out of range.

Sudo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Saburo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sudo defends it easily.

Sudo is fighting to break Saburo's control of his arms but Saburo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Saburo wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Sudo is now in half guard.
Sudo prevents Saburo from standing back up.

Sudo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sudo gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Sudo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Saburo trying to keep a closed guard but Sudo is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saburo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Sudo wants to stand but Saburo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Genki Sudo dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Saburo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sudo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Saburo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sudo misses with a head kick.
Adam Saburo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sudo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Saburo has his takedown stuffed

and Sudo counters with a single leg into guard. Saburo didn't expect that.
Saburo is pulling down on Sudo's head. It's preventing any offense from Sudo, at least for the moment.
Saburo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Saburo wants to stand up but Sudo is controlling him.
Saburo controls Sudo momentarily but Sudo frees himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Saburo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sudo makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Saburo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sudo as he jumps to the side.
Sudo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saburo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sudo tries to close the distance and clinch but Saburo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saburo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Genki Sudo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Saburo.
Sudo throws a right hand that Saburo ducks under and follows up with a left that Saburo also avoids with ease.
Sudo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Saburo.
Sudo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saburo has time to react.
Saburo looks to land a body kick but Sudo moved away.
Saburo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sudo but Sudo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sudo tries a head kick but it misses.
Genki Sudo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sudo lands a nice shot to the body.

Sudo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Saburo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Sudo stops Saburo from getting back to his feet.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Saburo is wriggling around trying to escape but Sudo has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Saburo taps out and Sudo picks up the big win! Great work there by Sudo!
