Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Royal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royal comes to the ring accompanied by Becoming The Bull. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Royal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwayne Austin! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Austin dodges the punch combination from Royal.
Royal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Royal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Royal swats away the attempt to clinch by Austin. Royal keeps the fight on the outside. Royal moves into the clinch. Austin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Royal takes an elbow to the temple. Austin lands a damaging elbow.

Royal drops down looking for an ankle pick but Austin pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Royal cracks Austin with a big elbow. Austin is pushing Royal's head away, looking to escape. Royal manages to hold on to the position though. Royal tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Royal is looking to take a break and control but Austin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Royal stands up and we're back to a striking position. Austin tries to clinch and Royal counters with a one-two to the body. Austin wants to clinch but Royal slips to the side and Royal counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Austin! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Royal moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Austin has worked his arm free - good work by Austin!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Austin is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Royal trying to control the position but Austin is working away. Austin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Royal decides to stand up, so the ref orders Austin to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Royal is defended easily by Austin. Royal circles away from the clinch attempt and Royal counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Austin closes the distance but Royal moves to the side and Royal makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Austin clinches but Royal breaks the clinch and Royal decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Austin's guard. Royal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Austin pushes Royal off and scrambles back to his feet.

Royal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Austin in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Royal jumps guard.
Austin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Royal is proving hard to escape from. Austin wants to stand and escape but instead Royal has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Royal cracks Austin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Royal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
