The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Villa circles away.
Villa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Powers does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Villa tries to score with a low kick but Powers moves his leg out of the way.
Powers shoots in and drives through. Villa sprawls well.
Matt Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Powers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Villa scores with a jab.
It looks like Matt Powers has been cut.
Powers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Villa counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Powers! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Villa!
