Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Liddrop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Liddrop!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddrop gets caught flat footed, as Hughes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hughes trying to control but Liddrop is working from the bottom.
Liddrop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Liddrop not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Liddrop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hughes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hughes stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hughes.

Hughes has closed the distance and engaged Liddrop in a clinch.
Liddrop tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hughes just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hughes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Mick Liddrop has been cut.
Liddrop is working for takedown but Hughes is calmly controlling the position for now.
Liddrop is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ryan Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Liddrop.
A frustrated look appears on Liddrop's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hughes crunches a lovely knee into Liddrop's ribcage.
Hughes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Liddrop fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown but Liddrop shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Liddrop stuffs the takedown.
Hughes jabs Liddrop right on the nose. Liddrop blinks but takes it well.
Liddrop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Hughes counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hughes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hughes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Liddrop is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hughes stands up over Liddrop, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hughes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddrop is keeping the position for now.

Hughes scoring with some ground and pound.
Hughes postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liddrop can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hughes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hughes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hughes stands up from Liddrop's guard - Hughes perhaps looking for a knockout.
Liddrop stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Liddrop wants it to stay on the feet.

Hughes clinches with his opponent.

Hughes ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hughes no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Liddrop should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hughes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liddrop is one step ahead there.

Hughes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hughes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hughes clinches up against the cage.

Hughes drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hughes is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes wants to control from the top but Liddrop keeps moving.
Hughes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hughes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Liddrop's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hughes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hughes stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Liddrop to get to his feet.
Hughes scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hughes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


That has opened up Mick Liddrop's cut even more.

Hughes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hughes lands in his opponent's guard.

Hughes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Liddrop, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Hughes dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mick Liddrop's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Hughes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hughes lands in his opponent's guard.
Hughes throwing strikes from guard but Liddrop blocks nicely.
Liddrop avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hughes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hughes showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Ryan Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Liddrop keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully.
Liddrop is breathing heavily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hughes's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Liddrop has momentary wrist control but Hughes slips an elbow through the middle.

Hughes stands up and waves to Liddrop to follow him.
Hughes scores with a push kick.
Hughes fails with a takedown attempt.

Hughes closes the distance and clinches.

Hughes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Hughes scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hughes scoring with punches and elbows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hughes lands a nice forearm strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddrop keeps working.
Hughes lands an elbow.


The cut above Mick Liddrop's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hughes lands a few punches from side control.


Mick Liddrop's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mick Liddrop's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ryan Hughes!
