Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and yukio mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama comes to the cage accompanied by Time to Say Goodbye. Yoshihiro Akiyama has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mishima moves in looking to clinch but Akiyama pushes him off.
Akiyama closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
mishima is trying to stand back up but Akiyama is controlling him

Akiyama is looking to take a break and control but mishima is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
mishima manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Akiyama is trying to control the action in half guard but mishima is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Akiyama drops back looking for a leg! mishima is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and mishima manages to kick Akiyama off! Akiyama jumps back into mishima's guard.
Akiyama is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! mishima is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! mishima has escaped and now he's on top!
Akiyama is looking for a triangle but mishima pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
mishima sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Akiyama's guard.

Akiyama seems a little lost for a moment, as mishima dominates the positioning.

yukio mishima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Akiyama counters with a nice double leg into side control. mishima won't be happy with that.
mishima is trying to control Akiyama's posture but Akiyama avoids it.
Akiyama is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. mishima is trying to escape and Akiyama transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and mishima is forced to tap! Nice work there by Akiyama! Very nice indeed!
