Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between rob gait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, rob gait! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard James! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! gait fails with a takedown attempt from distance. James wants to clinch up but gait keeps it at a distance. James fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but gait avoids it really well and circles away. gait throws a right and a left that James avoids nicely. gait throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
gait shoots in and drives through. James sprawls well. gait wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance. gait showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.

gait fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for rob gait. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. gait looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth. James pushes gait off looking to stand but gait dives back in and keeps control.
James is refusing to be controlled, as gait sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. James scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but gait manages to mount him!
You get the feeling that James really doesn't like being in this position too much.
gait has control of James's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and James regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. gait working James over with strikes here.
It looks like Richard James has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. gait looking to ground and pound but James is blocking nicely. James really wants to buck gait off and get back to his feet. James is squirming around, avoiding gait's attempts to control the action. James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with gait. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. James looks gassed! gait lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. James takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. gait lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from gait. gait throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
James has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. James is covering up but some of the strikes from gait are getting through and doing damage.
gait is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. James is defending well though. gait let's go of the attempt for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James staying busy and making it hard for gait to control. James is trapped and gait is scoring with shots to the head and body. James is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
James is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

gait shoots for a double leg takedown but James sprawls well. He's pushed gait's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. James throws a series of punches but gait avoids them all with ease. gait closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage. James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but gait gets the underhooks and prevents it.
gait has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position. gait controlling James's posture. gait really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. James throws a strike but gait rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. gait with a flurry of punches that miss. James is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. James wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and gait manages to pass to side control. James wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. James tries to kick gait off in order to stand up. gait Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. gait cracks James with a big right hand but James just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. James trying to remain calm as gait controls from the top position. gait working the ground and pound. gait is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down James's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. James wants to get back to his feet. gait decides to stand back up. gait steps back and let's James get back to his feet. James misses with a takedown attempt - gait sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. gait clinches with his opponent.

gait breaks the clinch.
James takes a swing at gait's ribcage but misses. gait fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
rob gait dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Richard James's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
gait clinches up against the cage. gait avoiding damage.
James drops down looking for an ankle pick but gait pulls his leg out and moves away.
The fight moves into the clinch position. gait escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
gait dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on gait's head and hops out. James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from gait. gait checks a leg kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily. gait gets the takedown into side control. James wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. gait stands up and we're back to a striking position. gait closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. gait decides to stand up. James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
gait shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for rob gait. That's going to take a lot out of him. James lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
No luck for gait with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James checks a low kick from gait. gait fails with an attempt to clinch.
James tries to land a front kick but gait steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. James falls off balance throwing a combination
so gait counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. gait stands up and waves to James to follow him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
gait tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but gait was well out of range. Poor timing from James. gait throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and James counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. gait shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts James as he jumps to the side. gait clinches with his opponent.
gait pulls James into guard.
James throws and elbow that misses. gait uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in James's guard. Nice move by gait! James wants to get back to his feet but gait is in a dominant position and won't allow it. gait decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. rob gait is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. James throws a lazy head kick and gait counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for James! Richard James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. gait working James over with strikes here. gait has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of James's face.
rob gait overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. gait wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely. gait controlling the position easily from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! rob gait showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for gait, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
