Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kulich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Piletich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kulich comes into the arena with Meat Plow blaring out of the sound system. Piletich has chosen Manowar-King of Kings as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Mark Kulich has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mark Kulich seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Kulich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Piletich! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kulich throws a good cross that connects.
Piletich tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kulich was well out of range. Poor timing from Piletich. Piletich throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Piletich throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A combination from Piletich does no damage. Piletich fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kulich avoids it really well and circles away. Kulich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kulich thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kulich stuffs the takedown attempt from Piletich. Piletich gets slowly back to his feet. A combination from Kulich does no damage. A combination from Kulich does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kulich lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Piletich shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kulich but Kulich pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mark Kulich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Piletich. Piletich displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kulich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Piletich counters with a nice uppercut. Kulich loads up on a big right hand but Piletich slips the punch. Piletich showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kulich.
Piletich lands with a nice combination. Kulich backs away looking to recover. Piletich shoots in looking for a takedown. Kulich tries to sprawl out of it but Piletich keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kulich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kulich keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kulich blocks a jab. Kulich scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kulich digs a good body shot into Piletich's ribs. Kulich lands the left hand. Piletich avoids a punch combination nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Piletich. Good exchange - Kulich coming out on top. Kulich works over Piletich's head and body with a nice combination. Kulich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Piletich counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kulich won't be happy with that. Kulich sneaks back into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piletich controlling the action here. Kulich is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Piletich thows a huge punch but Kulich dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Piletich throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Kulich counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kulich throws a hook but Piletich avoids it easily. Piletich walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kulich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Piletich drives through with a takedown into guard. Piletich in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Kulich will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kulich uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Piletich has time to react. Kulich misses with a double jab
so Piletich counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Piletich trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kulich wants to get back to his feet but Piletich is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Piletich is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Piletich stops Kulich from standing up. Kulich keeping full guard, as Piletich tries to pass. Kulich is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Piletich is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kulich keeping full guard, as Piletich tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Piletich keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kulich's head. Piletich wants to control from the top but Kulich keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Piletich lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kulich backs up against the cage.
A swing and a miss from Kulich. Mark Kulich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Piletich with that takedown attempt. Kulich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Piletich counters with a takedown into side control. Kulich is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Piletich politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Piletich prefers to stall for the moment though. Kulich throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Kulich avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mark Kulich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good shot there by Piletich. Kulich keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Piletich counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Piletich. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kulich pushes Piletich off and scrambles back to his feet.

Piletich connects with a single shot there. Kulich is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Piletich. Kulich comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Piletich takes one on the button. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Piletich missing with a left hand there. Kulich was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kulich falls off balance throwing a combination

Matt Piletich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kulich is looking for a sweep. Piletich is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kulich blocking the ground and pound attempt from Piletich.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piletich not landing any meaningful shots this time. Piletich wants to control but Kulich is keeping him busy. Piletich has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Piletich missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Piletich looks to score with a jab to the body but Kulich is just out of range. Piletich gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kulich stuffs the takedown attempt from Piletich. Piletich gets slowly back to his feet. Piletich looks for a takedown but Kulich sprawls well. Mark Kulich is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kulich staying out of range there. Piletich takes one to the side of the head.
Kulich misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

so Piletich counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kulich is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Piletich is controlling him. Matt Piletich has got the better of the ground game so far. Kulich looking to hit a scissor sweep but Piletich is one step ahead there. Kulich can't keep his opponent in guard - Piletich advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Piletich lands a nice short elbow. Piletich passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kulich! Piletich with a couple of short strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Piletich cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Piletich can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kulich is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Piletich scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Piletich goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kulich is on top in guard.
Kulich is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Piletich has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kulich is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Piletich. Kulich is looking to take a break and control but Piletich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Piletich comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Piletich has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
