Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin comes into the arena with Soilwork - Rejection Role blaring out of the sound system. Shinichi Fuujin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul throws a big shot that misses.
Fuujin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Fuujin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fuujin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paul sprawls well. Paul wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fuujin gets slowly back to his feet.

Fuujin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Paul is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Fuujin has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Paul has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fuujin is proving hard to escape from.
Fuujin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paul can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fuujin wants to sweep but no luck.
Paul wants to get up but he can't break Fuujin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fuujin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Paul's guard.
Paul is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fuujin is controlling him.

Paul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fuujin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paul looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fuujin has hold of Paul's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Paul tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fuujin cranks the arm and Paul screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Paul, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
