Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andy Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone comes into the arena with I stand alone - Godsmack blaring out of the sound system. Andy Stone has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Stone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Chase! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chase wants to clinch. Chase on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Chase shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily. Good leg kick by Chase there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Chase feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Stone's calf. Chase fails with the takedown. Andy Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Chase. Stone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Chase tries to close the distance and clinch but Stone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chase fails with an attempt to clinch.

Stone decides to return to a standing position. Chase fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stone sprawls well initially but Chase persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chase wants to control but Stone is keeping him busy. Stone tries to kick Chase off but Chase keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Chase trying to control from Stone's half guard. Stone has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Chase is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stone has escaped and now he's on top! Chase looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chase manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Chase is working for a guillotine from mount but Stone frees his head quite easily.
Chase goes for an armbar but Stone turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Stone. Chase looks gassed! Chase working for a triangle but Stone defends it easily.
Stone decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Chase, up you get!

Chase is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stone is aware though and is defending well. Stone has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chase is proving hard to escape from. Chase is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Stone stopping the sweep attempt from Chase. Stone decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chase tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Chase looks for a takedown but Stone sprawls well. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andy Stone. I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
