Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Hawkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Hawkes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky McBride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Hawkes!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBride takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Ricky McBride has been cut.
Hawkes blocks a low kick nicely.
McBride ducks right into an uppercut from Hawkes.
McBride moves forwards but Hawkes connects with a nice, crisp jab.
McBride throws a head kick that misses.
Hawkes cracks McBride with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends McBride tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hawkes pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! McBride is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathan Hawkes!
