Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Athrun Zala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Samuels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zala comes to the ring accompanied by Drowning Pool - Bodies. Sam Samuels will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Athrun Zala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Samuels! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samuels looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zala is fending him off so far but Samuels persists. Nope, Zala circles away and we're back to standing. Zala with a poor takedown and Samuels counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Zala tries for a takedown but Samuels circles away easily letting Samuels counter with a right hand. Zala shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Samuels keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Samuels is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Samuels gets back to half guard. Samuels makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Samuels. Samuels had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zala defends it easily. Samuels escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zala gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zala lands a couple of decent looking shots. Zala works over Samuels with some ground and pound from guard. Samuels has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Zala should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Samuels has tightened it up now! Zala should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
