PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robin Berglund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jedrek Keshrenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Robin Berglund has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Berglund!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jedrek Keshrenov!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berglund lands with a kick to the temple. Keshrenov shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A decent looking body kick lands there for Berglund.
Keshrenov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Berglund can pounce on him.

Berglund scores with a takedown into Keshrenov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Keshrenov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Berglund doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Berglund manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Berglund wants to stand but Keshrenov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Berglund is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Keshrenov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berglund gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Keshrenov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berglund gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Berglund has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Keshrenov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Berglund defends well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Berglund changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Keshrenov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Keshrenov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Keshrenov dodges the ground and pound from Berglund.

Berglund is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Keshrenov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Berglund knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Keshrenov on the ground.

Berglund is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Keshrenov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berglund.
Berglund wants to pass the guard but Keshrenov is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Berglund swings for the body but Keshrenov moves out of range.

Berglund shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Keshrenov's guard.

Keshrenov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Berglund should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Keshrenov has tightened it up now! Berglund should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
