Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Blammo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Thurtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Blammo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Blammo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michel Thurtz!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blammo tries to clinch there but Thurtz circles away.
Blammo defending well as Thurtz loads up on a big left hand.
Blammo wants to clinch up but Thurtz keeps it at a distance.
Blammo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thurtz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Blammo avoids the body shot from Thurtz.
Thurtz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blammo drops back looking for a leg! Thurtz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thurtz manages to kick Blammo off! Blammo jumps back into Thurtz's guard.

Thurtz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blammo manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

I looks like Thurtz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Blammo is controlling Thurtz's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Thurtz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Thurtz wants to take a breather but Blammo is having none of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Michel Thurtz just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Blammo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thurtz paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Blammo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Thurtz has his foot on Blammo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blammo works his way back into a safe position though.

Thurtz drives through and clinches with Blammo against the cage.
Thurtz gets through Blammo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The referee is keeping an eye on Thurtz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Thurtz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Thurtz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blammo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thurtz is controlling him.

Thurtz has closed the distance and engaged Blammo in a clinch.

Thurtz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thurtz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Blammo shoots for a double leg takedown but Thurtz sprawls well. He's pushed Blammo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Horrible takedown by Blammo or perhaps it was just good defense by Thurtz which made him look bad.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blammo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thurtz as he jumps to the side.

Thurtz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blammo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blammo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Thurtz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
