Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector McAlpine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Marcus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hector McAlpine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Marcus!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marcus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
McAlpine tries to clinch up.

McAlpine bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McAlpine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marcus keeps working.
McAlpine has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Marcus!
Marcus is in a horrible position here. McAlpine smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

McAlpine fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
McAlpine takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McAlpine's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McAlpine cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Marcus is bucking up trying to escape but McAlpine cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
McAlpine trying to control but Marcus is having none of it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hector McAlpine just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
McAlpine scores with a nice right hand.

McAlpine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McAlpine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McAlpine lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McAlpine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Marcus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McAlpine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

McAlpine stands up out of the half guard.

McAlpine darts in and clinches Marcus up against the cage.
Marcus doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Marcus has McAlpine pressed against the cage, preventing McAlpine from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

McAlpine manages to break the clinch.
McAlpine lands a high kick!


It looks like Jon Marcus has been cut.

McAlpine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

McAlpine stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Marcus to get to his feet.

McAlpine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marcus's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marcus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McAlpine controls the pace.
Marcus is breathing heavily.

Marcus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hector McAlpine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
McAlpine controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

McAlpine stands and steps away. Marcus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McAlpine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McAlpine seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hector McAlpine just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
McAlpine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

McAlpine looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

McAlpine gets to his feet. Marcus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A thudding body kick lands there by McAlpine!

McAlpine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Marcus fails to pull guard.
McAlpine is trying to break the clinch but Marcus has him pressed against the cage.
McAlpine stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Marcus keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McAlpine's efforts to push away.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
McAlpine wants to get back to striking at distance but Marcus won't allow it.
McAlpine lands with a light punch inside.

McAlpine decides to pull guard.
McAlpine trying to keep a closed guard but Marcus is proving a slippery customer.
McAlpine keeping full guard, as Marcus tries to pass.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marcus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McAlpine wants to get back to his feet but Marcus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



McAlpine darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

McAlpine is working for a kimura but Marcus is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McAlpine stands up and beckons Marcus to join him on the feet.
Marcus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

McAlpine tries a head kick but it misses.
McAlpine is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McAlpine doesn't manage to clinch there - Marcus circles away.
Marcus throws a body kick the misses

and McAlpine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Marcus's guard.
McAlpine trying to control but Marcus is working from the bottom.

McAlpine decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Marcus, up you get!

McAlpine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marcus sprawls well initially but McAlpine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McAlpine prevents Marcus from standing back up.

McAlpine controlling the action here.
Marcus is refusing to be controlled, as McAlpine sits in half guard.

McAlpine passes to full mount!
McAlpine trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McAlpine looking to finish Marcus with some ground and pound. This is bad for Marcus!

Well McAlpine has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
