The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from O Neil as sanchez shoots in.
sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. O Neil tries to sprawl out of it but sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. O Neil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
O Neil lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by O Neil.
sanchez looks for a takedown but O Neil sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for juan sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
O Neil misses with the combination.
A right-left combo lands from O Neil.
It looks like juan sanchez has been cut.
O Neil stuffs the takedown attempt from sanchez. sanchez gets slowly back to his feet.
sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but O Neil sprawls well. He's pushed sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
O Neil wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

O Neil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
O Neil is having to fend off submission attempts from sanchez, who is looking to sink in the choke. sanchez doesn't have the hooks in though and O Neil manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
sanchez is breathing heavily.

sanchez wants to sweep but no luck.
sanchez has a closed guard, preventing O Neil from standing up.
O Neil must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. O Neil doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. O Neil manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
O Neil gets to his feet - sanchez follows without any prompting.
O Neil lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Horrible takedown by sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by O Neil which made him look bad.
O Neil should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with O Neil, looking for a takedown. sanchez pushes O Neil against the cage but O Neil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - O Neil sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
O Neil misses with a low kick.
O Neil attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
O Neil connects with a body shot.
Mickey O Neil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Neil misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
sanchez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. O Neil is keeping the position for now.
sanchez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

O Neil wants to stand but sanchez is controlling the position.
sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. O Neil swivels though and keeps the full guard.
sanchez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! O Neil is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of sanchez, into his guard.

sanchez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. O Neil doesn't defend quickly enough and sanchez has managed to lock this one up! Can O Neil escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to sanchez on a fantastic submission victory.
