Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Slanski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Slanski could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jared Bass's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Slanski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared Bass!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bass displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slanski throws out the jab.
Slanski is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Slanski paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Slanski, as that shot connected.
Nice defenses there by Bass.
Brian Slanski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bass changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slanski tries to avoid it but Bass manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slanski to the ground. Slanski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bass closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slanski circles away.
Bass ducks under a wild hook from Slanski.
Slanski missing with a left hand there. Bass was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Slanski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bass wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bass is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Slanski has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bass wants to control but Slanski is keeping him busy.

Slanski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Slanski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Bass gets caught flat footed, as Slanski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Slanski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Slanski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Slanski has gone for a leg lock! Bass slips out almost immediately though and dives into Slanski's guard.

Slanski has his foot on Bass's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bass works his way back into a safe position though.

Slanski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bass can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bass is looking to take a break and control but Slanski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bass shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bass was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A close round but Jared Bass will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bass ducks right into an uppercut from Slanski.
Bass uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Slanski.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bass.
Slanski catches Bass with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Slanski throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Slanski throws an overhand right that lands on Bass's shoulder, as Bass tries to avoid the shot.
Jared Bass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slanski throws a hook to the side of Bass's head but Bass sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Slanski lands a jab to the nose.
Slanski scores with a jab to the head.
Bass slips a straight right by Slanski.
Slanski throws the left hand but Bass avoids the punch easily.

Bass darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Slanski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bass pulls his head out easily.
Slanski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Slanski is looking for a triangle here but Bass uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Slanski is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Slanski throws the left hand but Bass avoids the punch easily.

and Slanski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Brian Slanski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jared Bass.

Slanski swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Slanski throws a shot from downtown. Bass moves away and avoids it.

Bass ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's time! Slanski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Bass has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Slanski finds it's way round the side to connect with Bass's head.
Slanski bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bass's head backwards.
Slanski misses the jab.
Bass uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Slanski.
Bass bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bass changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slanski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Slanski is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Slanski manages to get to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slanski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bass is aware though and is defending well.

Bass working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

You can see the frustration on Slanski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slanski keeps working.
Slanski tries to improve position but can't.
Slanski is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bass off and has taken his back!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Slanski has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bass has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bass wants to control from the top but Slanski keeps moving.
Slanski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bass got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slanski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bass has managed to get both his arms back between Slanski's legs - danger averted.
Slanski keeping full guard, as Bass tries to pass.
Slanski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Slanski gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bass to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Slanski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bass's guard.
Slanski wants to pass the guard but Bass is keeping the position.

Slanski is looking to advance position but Bass has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Slanski slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

I would just about give that final round to Jared Bass.
I think Bass has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
