Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Monson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Powers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Monson! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Powers takes a swing at Monson's ribcage but misses. Powers throws a low kick but Monson avoids it. Powers connects with the punch. Monson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Powers struggling a bit here. Monson is trying to get an arm triangle but Powers is defending well. Powers tries to improve position but can't. Monson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Powers is looking for a sweep. Powers tries to strike but it doesn't land. Monson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Powers some visible discomfort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Powers struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers tries to buck Monson off but Monson is having none of it. Monson is staying tight to Powers's torso, preventing him from escaping. Monson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Monson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Powers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Monson throws a strike aimed at the side of Powers's head but Powers avoids it well. The referee asks Monson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Monson prefers to stall for the moment though. You can see the frustration on Powers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Powers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Monson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Possibly, maybe, no Monson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ground and pound from Monson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monson in side control lands a decent elbow. Powers really is a fat lump. Powers is trying to control Monson's posture but Monson avoids it. Powers is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Powers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Monson on the ground. A lull in the action here. Monson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Powers is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
