Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Gale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawk Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Price's choice of entrance music: Behind Closed Doors - Rise Against. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Gale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hawk Price!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price keeps the fight on the outside.
Gale tries to score a power double leg takedown but Price sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gale somewhat.
Nice sprawl there from Price as Gale shoots in.
Gale scores with a leg kick.
Gale shoots in for a takedown but Price shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Gale. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gale throws a nice looking combination but Price bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gale throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Gale or perhaps it was just good defense by Price which made him look bad.

Price throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gale escapes and throws Price's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gale clinches up with Price and pushes him back against the cage.
Gale has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Gale gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Gale got a little sloppy there for a moment and Price has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gale has managed to get both his arms back between Price's legs - danger averted.

Gale pushes down on Price's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gale thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Price's head.
Gale is trying to control the action in half guard but Price is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gale wants to stand up but Price has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Price is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gale pulls his head out easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gale is just content to waste time from the top position. Price takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Price takes a kick to the side of the head.

Gale misses with a takedown

and Price counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Price gets control of Gale's arms and successfully pulls guard. Price will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Gale is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gale doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gale manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gale tries to stand but Price is controlling from the bottom.

Price looking for a guillotine here but Gale defends easily.

Gale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Price works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A close second round but Hawk Price will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Gale manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Price manages to get himself to full guard.

Price has his foot on Gale's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gale works his way back into a safe position though.
Gale would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Price utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Price misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gale looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Price wants to get back to full guard.

Gale drops back, looking for a kneebar! Price looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Price looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Price!
Gale manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Chris Gale overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Price is refusing to be controlled, as Gale sits in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Gale has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
