Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolai Beryia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Stalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joseph Stalin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Beryia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Stalin!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Nikolai Beryia has been cut.
Beryia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stalin tries to clinch there but Beryia circles away.
Stalin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beryia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Beryia feints and as Stalin raises his hands in defense, Beryia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Beryia's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Beryia gets to his feet. Stalin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Joseph Stalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beryia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Beryia decides to stand and escape the position.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stalin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Beryia wants to clinch up but Stalin keeps it at a distance.
Stalin throws a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stalin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beryia paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Beryia counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stalin!
Beryia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Stalin has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Beryia is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Stalin is trying to shake Beryia off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Beryia won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Stalin tries to close the distance and clinch but Beryia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Beryia shoots in for a takedown but Stalin shows good takedown defense.

Beryia has had enough of the clinch but Stalin keeps him there for the moment.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Stalin gets underhooks to prevent Beryia's takedown attempt.

Beryia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stalin sprawls well initially but Beryia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Beryia tries to pass to full mount but Stalin defends it.
Stalin wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Beryia performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Beryia stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Stalin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Beryia's sensitive parts.
Stalin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Beryia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stalin.

Stalin throws a right and a left that Beryia avoids nicely.
Stalin scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Stalin wants to clinch up but Beryia keeps it at a distance.
Beryia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Beryia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Beryia lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Beryia has control of Stalin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Stalin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Beryia connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Stalin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stalin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Beryia throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stalin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Beryia misses with a low kick.
Stalin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Beryia.
Stalin doesn't manage to clinch there - Beryia circles away.

Beryia drives through with a takedown into guard.
Beryia lands a couple of elbows.
Beryia controls from within his opponent's guard.
Nikolai Beryia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stalin wants to stand and escape but Beryia is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beryia controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Beryia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Beryia with a flurry of punches that miss.
Beryia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Beryia trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beryia sitting in guard here, content to control.
Beryia stops Stalin from standing up.
Stalin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Beryia stands up from Stalin's guard - Beryia perhaps looking for a knockout.
Beryia shoots for a double leg takedown but Stalin sprawls well. He's pushed Beryia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stalin misses with a wild combination.
Stalin wants to clinch but Beryia slips to the side

and Beryia counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Beryia trying to mount his opponent but Stalin defends it.

Beryia decides to return to a standing position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nikolai Beryia showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beryia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
