Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares slaps away a takedown attempt from Rodriguez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rodriguez looks for a takedown but Soares sprawls well.
Rodriguez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Soares lands with a nice combination. Rodriguez backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Rico Rodriguez has been cut.
Rodriguez tries to clinch but Soares is having none of it.
Rodriguez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Soares did well to prevent Rodriguez getting side control.
Soares keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Soares looking for submissions off his back.
Rodriguez prevents Soares from improving his position.
Soares moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Soares is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodriguez defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soares is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rodriguez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Soares working for a triangle but Rodriguez defends it easily.
Rodriguez controlling from the top position.
Soares will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rodriguez is sitting in close to Soares's body. Soares has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rodriguez is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rodriguez is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Soares.
