Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brett Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Ikematsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikematsu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 一騎の花. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hiro Ikematsu!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Mir tries for a takedown but Ikematsu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ikematsu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Ikematsu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ikematsu moves into the clinch successfully.
Ikematsu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mir has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ikematsu lands a nice knee to the body.

Ikematsu gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Ikematsu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mir swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mir controls Ikematsu momentarily but Ikematsu frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ikematsu pushes down on Mir's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ikematsu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Ikematsu throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Mir is trying to get back to full guard.
Ikematsu working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Mir's thigh. Mir counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Ikematsu gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mir doesn't manage to clinch there - Ikematsu circles away.
Ikematsu lands with a kick to the ribs.
Hiro Ikematsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ikematsu tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Ikematsu tries to buck Mir off but he can't manage it.
Ikematsu is looking to improve his position but Mir isn't that keen on the idea.

Mir stands up from mount. Strange move.

Ikematsu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Ikematsu is taking a breather. Mir says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mir wants to get back to his feet.
Mir is staying active underneath Ikematsu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ikematsu stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Ikematsu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mir is trying to defend but Ikematsu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ikematsu decides to return to a standing position.

Mir throws a sloppy head kick and Ikematsu moves out of range easily.

Mir looking for a triangle here. Ikematsu is fighting it but it looks tight! Mir pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ikematsu is tapping out - this one is all over!
