The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dyer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sokolov shoots for a takedown but Dyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice defenses there by Sokolov.
Sokolov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dyer swinging wilding here.
Dyer connects with a solid leg kick.
Dyer throws a looping overhand right but Sokolov ducks down to avoid it.
Dyer throws a right hand that Sokolov ducks under and follows up with a left that Sokolov also avoids with ease.
Dyer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sokolov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dyer misses the jab.
Dyer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sokolov.
Dyer throws a series of punches but Sokolov moves out of range.
Dyer leaves Sokolov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stephen Dyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Sokolov.
A punch combination from Dyer misses.
Dyer throws a head kick but Sokolov moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Dyer. No joy for Sokolov on that attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sokolov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dyer's waist but Dyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sokolov off to one side.
Sokolov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dyer sprawls well. Dyer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sokolov gets slowly back to his feet.

Dyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Sokolov.
Sokolov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dyer, who protects the arm well.

Dyer wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Sokolov tries for a kimura but Dyer is defending well.
Dyer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sokolov has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dyer wants to control but Sokolov postures up.
Dyer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dyer is looking to reverse the position.
Sokolov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dyer is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sokolov yanks on the arm and Dyer is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sokolov.
