Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Jacobsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spike Spiegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Simon Jacobsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Spike Spiegel! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobsen tries to clinch but Spiegel moves out of range. Spike Spiegel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jacobsen looks to land a combination but Spiegel avoids it well. Spiegel wants to clinch but Jacobsen slips to the side and Jacobsen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jacobsen. Jacobsen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Spiegel lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jacobsen lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Spike Spiegel has been cut. Spiegel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Some wild striking there from Spiegel.
Spiegel throws a head kick that misses and Jacobsen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spiegel's guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jacobsen trying to control but Spiegel is working from the bottom. Jacobsen wants to pass the guard but Spiegel is keeping the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jacobsen trying to control but Spiegel is working from the bottom. Jacobsen stopping the sweep attempt from Spiegel.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiegel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jacobsen looking to pass the guard. Spiegel wants to sweep here but Jacobsen controlling him for the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spiegel can do anything to dispel that myth. Spiegel keeping full guard, as Jacobsen tries to pass.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Spiegel rushes Jacobsen and presses him up against the ropes. Spiegel gets underhooks to prevent Jacobsen's takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jacobsen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Spiegel blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Spiegel tries to break the clinch but Jacobsen is controlling the position. Jacobsen lands a good knee to the midsection. Spiegel won't want to take too many of those. Jacobsen tries a knee to the head but Spiegel blocks it.

Spiegel throws a sloppy head kick and Jacobsen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spiegel's guard. Jacobsen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jacobsen is breathing heavily. Jacobsen is working hard here to advance position. Jacobsen trying to control but Spiegel is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobsen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Spiegel dives on top into guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Spiegel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Spiegel wants to control from the top but Jacobsen keeps moving. Spiegel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Spiegel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Spiegel passes Jacobsen's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jacobsen regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spiegel preventing the sweep. Jacobsen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Spiegel uses it to pass to side control.
Spiegel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Spiegel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jacobsen keeps working. Spiegel passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jacobsen! Spiegel sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Jacobsen tries to hold on but Spiegel pushes him away. Jacobsen working to try and regain half guard.
Spiegel punching from mount but Jacobsen doing a good job of avoiding damage. Jacobsen is looking to improve his position but Spiegel isn't that keen on the idea. Spiegel unloads with some shots from mount but Jacobsen bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Jacobsen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Spike Spiegel's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Spiegel lands with a nice combination. Jacobsen backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Simon Jacobsen has been cut. Spiegel swats away the attempt to clinch by Jacobsen. Spiegel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spiegel thows a leg kick but Jacobsen checks it and Jacobsen counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Nice shot by Jacobsen. Spiegel drives through and clinches with Jacobsen against the ropes.

Spiegel misses with a leg kick and Jacobsen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Spiegel's guard now. This has been an exciting period of action! Jacobsen preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobsen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Spiegel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Spiegel has escaped and now he's on top! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spiegel trying to control the position from guard on top but Jacobsen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jacobsen working for a triangle but Spiegel defends it easily.
Spiegel throwing strikes from guard but Jacobsen blocks nicely. Spiegel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Spiegel wants to pass the guard but Jacobsen is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jacobsen keeping moving, preventing Spiegel from controlling successfully. Jacobsen trying to keep a closed guard but Spiegel is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Jacobsen blocks the body kick.
Spiegel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jacobsen counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jacobsen trying to mount his opponent but Spiegel defends it. Jacobsen has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Spiegel defend it? Jacobsen steps over the head and cranks it - Spiegel is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jacobsen!
