Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Silver Surfer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiri Hyvonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hyvonen has chosen One Morning Left - Jack The Flipper (Where's My Bodyguard?) as his entrance music. Jiri Hyvonen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Silver Surfer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silver Surfer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Hyvonen! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Surfer misses with a wild combination.
Hyvonen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hyvonen seems keen to control Surfer's posture. Hyvonen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Surfer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hyvonen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Surfer postures up in Hyvonen's guard and throws a big left but Hyvonen blocks it. Surfer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Surfer won't allow Hyvonen to sweep him here. Hyvonen working for a triangle but Surfer defends it easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Surfer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Surfer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hyvonen avoids the body shot from Surfer.
Surfer looks to land a combination. Hyvonen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Surfer throws the left hand but Hyvonen avoids the punch easily. Surfer lands a two punch combo.

Hyvonen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hyvonen lands in his opponent's guard. Surfer is breathing heavily. Hyvonen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hyvonen trying to control but Surfer is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hyvonen stopping the sweep attempt from Surfer. Hyvonen content to stall in guard here. Surfer wants to sweep but no luck. Surfer throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Donk. Surfer catches Hyvonen right on the button with a cross. Surfer with a lazy takedown attempt and Hyvonen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Surfer's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Surfer keeping moving, preventing Hyvonen from controlling successfully. Hyvonen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Surfer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hyvonen is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hyvonen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hyvonen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hyvonen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hyvonen wants to control from the top but Surfer keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Surfer misses with a takedown attempt and Hyvonen counters with a single leg into guard. Surfer didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silver Surfer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hyvonen postures up.
Hyvonen controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Surfer keeping moving, preventing Hyvonen from controlling successfully. Surfer lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hyvonen! Surfer prevents Hyvonen from getting the reversal. Surfer trying to control but Hyvonen is having none of it. Hyvonen throwing hammer fists to the chest of Surfer. What's that going to do exactly?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hyvonen blocking the ground and pound. Surfer wants to control the pace but Hyvonen is squirming around nicely. Surfer avoids the attempt from Hyvonen to control. Hyvonen regains half guard. Surfer wants to control but Hyvonen is keeping him busy. Surfer wants to work for an arm triangle but Hyvonen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Surfer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hyvonen is just riding it out for now. Surfer eventually gives up the hold. Hyvonen wants to control but Surfer is keeping busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Surfer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jiri Hyvonen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Surfer lands with a nice body punch. Surfer pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hyvonen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Surfer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Surfer looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hyvonen puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Surfer looks like he's trying to stand up.
Surfer tries to get to full guard but Hyvonen has control of the leg. Surfer is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hyvonen pulls his head out easily. Surfer is trying to stand back up but Hyvonen is controlling him
That's two minutes gone in the round. Surfer is looking to control Hyvonen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Surfer avoid being mounted? Hyvonen passes into side control, despite Surfer's attempt to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Surfer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Surfer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hyvonen wants to improve his position but Surfer is controlling well.

Surfer seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jiri Hyvonen has got the better of the ground game so far. Hyvonen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Surfer is working away from the top position though. Hyvonen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hyvonen. Surfer postures up.
Surfer is looking to stand up but Hyvonen won't let him. Hyvonen is pulling down on Surfer's head. It's preventing any offense from Surfer, at least for the moment. Surfer wants to get up but he can't break Hyvonen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hyvonen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hyvonen is working for a submission of some sort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Surfer tries to kick Hyvonen off but Hyvonen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hyvonen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Surfer actively working from the bottom here. Surfer is staying active underneath Hyvonen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hyvonen controlling the action here. Surfer is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Surfer throws a combination. Hyvonen tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Hyvonen prevents Surfer from improving his position. Hyvonen moves into full mount! Surfer won't be happy about that! Hyvonen landing strikes from the mount.
